Daegu's new international-size rink

Daegu Second Ice Rink formally opened on 1 July 2026 as a year-round, international-size rink, and held its opening ceremony on 31 July. It stands in the Sinseo innovation city district of Dong-gu, in a building of 4,998 square metres with a basement and two floors.

It has one international-size sheet and seats for 204 spectators, and its page says short track, figure skating and ice hockey can all be played there.

The rink says it is meant for the professional training of skaters and for the city's everyday sport together. Its notice list records a temporary closure from 4 to 30 August 2026. On weekdays the ice is resurfaced twice, and on weekends the rink sets aside a one-hour clean time around midday.
