A temporary artificial-ice rink on the Val-de-Charmey tennis courts, replacing Bulle's rink for one season.
The GESA Arena is a temporary rink. For the 2026-27 season the municipal rink of Bulle, normally part of Espace Gruyère, moves to Charmey, where a refrigerated ice surface is laid over the tennis courts of the sports and leisure centre of Val-de-Charmey. It runs from early October 2026 to mid-March 2027.
The tennis courts and two multi-sport courts, built more than fifty years ago, were chosen as the ideal site. The ice serves schools, the public and the clubs: the Gruyère hockey and figure-skating clubs have the surface for five and a half months without a break, which is rare when the rink opens in Bulle. HC Bulle-La Gruyère has grown since the Bulle rink opened in 1998, and the Club de patinage de la Gruyère was founded in 1997, a few months before it.
The regional sports centre at La Tour-de-Trême was meant to solve this shortage of ice with a new rink of its own.
