A covered 1,800 m² ice hall whose roof is also a car park
The Eissportzentrum Götzens is the municipality's covered ice hall, part of the Sportarena Götzens, with tennis courts, ice-stock lanes and a football ground next to it. The hall measures 80 by 40 metres with a clear height of 17 metres, and its glued-laminated roof doubles as a car park deck.
The ice surface of 1,800 square metres (60 by 30 metres) is open for public skating from the end of October to mid-February, whatever the weather outside. Part of the surface is fenced off for ice hockey players, and children's skating courses are offered.
The hall is home to the hockey club EC Götzens, which teaches skating from the age of four and fields teams in all age groups of the Tyrolean state leagues, one of few clubs in Tyrol to do so. The club's work is entirely geared to youth development.
