A year-round 30 by 60 metre rink in Karuizawa's Kazakoshi Park
The Ice Arena is part of Karuizawa Kazakoshi Park, which describes itself as a sports facility rooted in everyday life. The hall holds a 30 by 60 metre indoor rink recognised for international use, with four changing rooms, a referee room, toilets and a multipurpose toilet.
Public skating runs in slots of 90 minutes, and anyone who stays for a second slot pays again. The rink is open all year, and the monthly timetable shows which slots are public and which are hired out to clubs and teams.
A helmet or a knit cap and gloves are required. The centre of the ice is kept for jumps and spins when it is busy, and hockey sticks and pucks are not allowed during public sessions.
