Opened on 5 December 1969 with the Kaučuk rubber works as patron; lengthened in 1985 and roofed by 1989
Kralupy nad Vltavou's winter stadium was built in 1967-70 and ceremonially opened on 5 December 1969 by Karel Ježek, director of the Kaučuk national enterprise, and Miroslav Čtvrtníček, the stadium's first manager. The artificial ice served athletes and the public for afternoon skating. The town's hockey had been played on frozen natural surfaces and tennis courts, and in 1954-63 the club played as Lokomotiva - Kaučuk.
In spring 1985 work started on lengthening the ice from 30 by 30 metres to about 55 by 30, and by autumn it was done, with metal benches, stronger lights, a broadcasting booth and penalty benches. A roof was put over the main ice surface and one wall, by the timing clock, was glazed; the roofing is dated to 1989. In the next four seasons from 1990/91 the stand behind the benches was finished and the ceiling painted.
The stadium holds 2,300 spectators and is the home of HK Kralupy. It has hosted international games against teams from France and Canada, under-18 and under-16 national team friendlies, and the traditional Veolia Cup and Prevent Cup tournaments.
