A seasonal covered rink at Rive since 2008

Since 2008 the city of Nyon has provided a free covered rink of 525 square metres on the Place des Fêtes de Rive, first in partnership with the association Patinoire.ch, which is tied to HC Nyon. Over the years it has become an essential part of the town's winter. When the association withdrew, the city took over the running of the rink.

The seasonal rink is now in its 18th season and is still a popular winter meeting place. In the 2025-26 season it was open 128 days, welcomed nearly 6,500 school pupils and more than 7,500 skaters, and let the Hockey Club de Nyon, a fixture of local sport, carry on its activities in good conditions. The club also runs a figure-skating school.

Each season ends with the HC Nyon tournament and skating gala; in 2026 they took place on Saturday 28 February.
