Vevey's rink is a mobile covered one: 600 square metres of ice, 30 by 20 metres, set up each winter in the town by the lake, in the rue Louis-Meyer next to the Jardin du Rivage. By November 2021 it had already begun its 14th season of operation.
It is run by the non-profit association Vevey sur Glace, made up of sports enthusiasts and representatives of the region's business and tourism, whose first aim is to promote a public rink in Vevey and run it through the winter. About 20,000 people skate there each season, many of them schoolchildren from Vevey and neighbouring communes.
The association describes it as a meeting place for families and children, sports clubs, schools and companies. Every Sunday morning the ice is given over to friendly hockey.
