Delfinen, Luleå's 1970 ice hall

Coop Norrbotten Arena opened on 13 September 1970 as a single ice hall called Delfinen. It became Coop Arena in 2002, and people still often call it Coop Arena or Delfinen. A major rebuild began in 2008; the rebuilt arena was inaugurated on 26 November 2009 before a league match between Luleå HF and Färjestads BK, and capacity for ice hockey matches grew from 5,600 to 6,300.

Luleå municipality calls it the city's big multi-arena, with four ice halls in all. The D-hall, Nåidenhallen, opened in 2008 and is used mainly for figure skating, curling and public skating. Luleå HF took over running the arena from the municipality on 1 July 2010.

The arena staged the first Melodifestivalen heat in 2011 and the third in 2020, and Luleå HF/MSSK took Swedish gold there in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2024.
