A temporary Olympic-legacy arena at Rho Fiera Milano
The Fiera Ice Arena is a temporary arena being built in front of the South Gate of Rho Fiera Milano. It is designed to host hockey, para ice hockey and figure skating, and it grew out of the wish to continue the interest generated by Milano Cortina 2026.
Works began on 6 July 2026 with the laying of the first pillar. Fondazione Fiera Milano announced an investment of 7 million euro for an area of 7,800 square metres, with a tent structure of 5,190 square metres and eight athletes' changing rooms of about 30 square metres each.
The sporting activity is run by FRIA, Fiera Rho Ice Academy, a company owned by the Italian Ice Sports Federation (FISG) and Fondazione Fiera Milano. The operator says the structures could be reused in the fair district or in a future permanent hall, and plans to open in October 2026.
