Home of Brunflo IK, with a past of Russian hockey legends, a hard rock festival and a U18 world championship
Klanghallen in Brunflo has seen more than club hockey. In February 2012 a nostalgia match between Russian and Swedish hockey legends was played here, announced the previous autumn as a visit by the classic Russian hockey five, and it ended 9-7 to the Russian veterans. In 2015 the hall was filled with hard rock for the first time at Beast of Rock, with Udo Dirkschneider, the former Accept singer, as the main draw.
The hall has survived trouble too. When a fire destroyed the neighbouring Brunflobadet swimming baths in 2007, Klanghallen was saved thanks to favourable winds.
It is the home of Brunflo IK, which was in line for new boards costing two and a half million kronor, mostly funded by Allmänna arvsfonden along with RF-SISU and Östersund municipality. Matches of the women's U18 world championship were scheduled here and at Östersund's arena, with Östersunds IK and Brunflo IK as co-organisers.
