Home of the ERSC Ottobrunn, founded in 1972

Eisstadion Ottobrunn is the home of the ERSC Ottobrunn, the Eis- und Rollsport-Club that was founded on 7 March 1972 in the town's Gymnasium. The club calls itself a home for ice hockey and ice skating and looks back on more than 50 years of ice and roller sport carried by volunteers. Its hockey section registered a first senior team in 1983.

Hockey is the heart of the club: more than 150 players train in nine teams, and its youth school-age team took the German runner-up place in 1991. About 5,000 pupils from some 35 schools come to skate each season, and the entry fee for school groups is billed by the Sportpark GmbH of the municipality of Ottobrunn.

In 2019 the stadium received energy-efficient LED lighting and another container was set up as a changing room for the youth teams. The club also held what it calls the first poetry slam on ice in Germany, and its ice disco ran three times a season. Outside the ice season the club plays roller hockey.
