Winter stadium opened in August 2004; Roudnice hockey dates to 1927, artificial ice to 1978
Hockey in Roudnice nad Labem began on the Elbe behind the locks in 1927, and the Hockey Club Roudnice was founded on 28 August 1931. For decades the team played on natural ice, and artificial ice arrived in 1978.
A project for a covered stadium with two ice surfaces and a hotel was prepared in 1983, but it was cancelled for political reasons. In 1993 the operator of the open stadium, TJ Spartak, ran into trouble, and the hockey players revived the club as an independent legal entity.
The new stadium opened in August 2004. The club had transferred its property in the area to the town, which now owns the stadium, and Roudnické městské služby operates it. The town promised the club's youth free use of the facilities and the ice. In 2005-06 the first team won both the Ústí region title and a Central Bohemian men's competition.
