A two-hall ice complex in Åkersberga that has stood since 1985 and was rebuilt after a fire in the early 2000s
Österåkers sportcentrum in Åkersberga has existed since 1985 and is the centre of the municipality's largest sports and outdoor area. A larger rebuilding followed a fire in the early 2000s. Besides the two ice halls it has two full-size ball halls and an artificial-turf football pitch, with the Hacksta recreation area, its floodlit track and disc golf course, next door.
Ice hall 1 is a training and competition hall with a stand for 1,100 spectators; ice hall 2 is a training hall, unheated and without a stand. The halls are open from late August until the turn of March and April.
The municipality has been renewing them: in 2024 hall 1 got a new sound system, a new scoreboard and a new rink board, described as the biggest change so far, and in 2025 both ice halls got new lighting and hall 1 a new ice surface.
