The Danicahallen, built in 2005 around a rink ready in 1926/27, on grounds opened by King Oscar II in 1906
Östermalms IP lies on Norra Djurgården next to the Stockholm stadium and was opened on 30 September 1906 by King Oscar II. It was used at the 1912 Olympic Games.
The ice hockey rink was ready for the 1926/27 season and was built into a new ice hall, the Danicahallen, in 2005. The hall's rink measures 30 by 60 metres, with a stand for 150 spectators.
Stockholm's only skating oval opened on the grounds at the turn of 1970-71, and the grounds burned down on Monday 2 June 1997. The attendance record, 8,526 spectators, was set at the 1945 league final between Hammarby and Södertälje SK; since the 2017/18 season Djurgårdens IF has played bandy there. Today the city's own page lists an ice hall, three artificial-turf pitches, athletics areas, a bandy pitch and a basketball court on the grounds, and says a 400-metre ice track is flooded around the bandy pitch in winter.
