A Bromma sports ground whose ice rink got Sweden's first plastic tent in 1969 and a proper hall in 1978
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
Stora Mossens IP in Bromma was laid out in 1933 to drawings by Paul Hedqvist and opened the same year. It is best known for its ice rink: in 1969 it became the first sports ground in Sweden to get a plastic tent over the ice, and in 1978 the tent became a proper ice hall.
The grounds were rebuilt in the winter of 1999-2000 and today have two ice halls. On 18 March 2017 the A-hall was full for the first time ever, with 1,300 spectators, for the Swedish women's ice hockey final.
The grounds are also the training centre for the first-team activity of IF Brommapojkarna's development centre. The city's own page lists two ice halls, two artificial-turf pitches, two sports halls and athletics areas there, and says the A-hall is equipped with No fall, a skating aid for people with balance difficulties.
