A multipurpose hall in the Mühlviertel that becomes a 700 m² ice arena in winter
The Norbert-Eder-Halle in Tragwein is a multipurpose hall with five asphalt ice-stock lanes, named after the mayor who, in 17 years in office, turned the village from a wallflower into a model of quality of life. It offers over 700 square metres for cultural events, trade fairs and sports, and the town says it is the only hall in the Mühlviertel that offers affordable artificial ice in winter for skaters, ice-stock players and hockey players.
For three months, from December to February, the hall becomes a 700 square metre ice arena that is lit brightly whatever the weather. A detailed booking plan gives skating, ice hockey and ice-stock their own set times, school classes get especially low rates, and a heated hall buffet serves hot food and drinks. In the 2026-27 season the hall also hosts its first Birnstingl shooting, a new ice-stock variant.
