The Appleton Family Ice Center has been the home of Lawrence University hockey since 1999. The nonprofit Appleton Ice operates the building, and also runs Tri County Ice Arena. The center has a capacity for 1,200 spectators.
A 7,000 square-foot addition and a renovation of Lawrence's existing locker room were completed in 2020. The new space includes a locker room for Appleton United, the combined team made up of Appleton high school players, and the Vikings' space also includes a lounge for the players and office space for the coaches. Lawrence's new women's team, making its debut in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association in 2020-21, moved into the renovated locker room.
A junior team is joining the building too. The North American 3 Hockey League approved the membership of Fox Cities LLC, with the team set to begin play in the 2026-27 season, and the Appleton Family Ice Center will serve as its home rink.
