The North Shore's mini rink, opened October 2025
The mini rink at the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre opened on Kamloops' North Shore in October 2025, with a free public skate on October 9 that more than 75 people of all ages joined. It is a scaled-down ice surface designed to support U-7 and U-9 hockey development, and it adds ice time for skating clubs, public skating and older age groups at other full-size rinks.
The space was retrofitted after the McArthur Island Curling Association moved to the Kamloops Curling Club, and the City reused netting from the Sandman Centre to fit it out. Besides the Kamloops Skating Club and young hockey players, it now serves public skating programs.
The Mini Rink holds 40 skaters at a time. The centre also holds the 1,200-seat NHL Rink and the 800-seat Olympic Rink.
