A community rink open since January 1967

Lockerbie Ice Rink's first official directors' meeting took place on 10 March 1966 in the Blue Bell Hotel, where the newly formed South of Scotland Ice Rink Limited agreed to buy land on Glasgow Road from Lockerbie Town Council. The rink held its official opening on 20 January 1967.

From 1967 until 2022 the building was leased to South of Scotland Ice Rink Club, which provided skating and curling. On 1 January 2022 the lease passed to a newly formed Scottish charitable organisation, Lockerbie Ice Rink, which took over the day to day running of the rink.

The rink is a well maintained 100ft rink with five curling sheets, and it has room for up to 400 skaters on a weekend. Curling takes the weekdays and skating the weekends, in a season that runs from October through to March.
