Ilderton's hockey and skating arena, reopened in March 2026

The Ilderton Arena opened for the single purpose of providing hockey and skating and has since become a major community hub. It is home to the Ilderton Youth Centre, the four-sheet Ilderton Curling Club, the Ilderton Minor Hockey Association, known as the Ilderton Jets, and the Ilderton Skating Club.

Middlesex Centre council approved a renovation at its April 3, 2024, meeting, with the aim of extending the building's life by 10 to 12 years, after which the municipality plans to replace it with a twin pad facility. The old rink boards were more than 30 years old, built of a steel frame and plywood with no give when players hit them, and many of the electrical services were original to the building.

The arena officially reopened on March 12, 2026. The completed upgrades include a modernized refrigeration plant, renovated lobby and dressing rooms, accessible washrooms, and new rink boards and glass. The reopening celebration included an exhibition game by the Ilderton Minor Hockey Association and free public skating, and the mayor called the arena the heart of the village.
