Currently out of season The arena has ice from mid-October to mid-March. Public skating dates have not been posted. Official schedule update
Apple Valley Sports Arena opened in 1976 and is jointly owned and operated by the City of Apple Valley and Independent School District 196. It has a single standard 200-by-85-foot NHL sheet, with bleacher seating on only one side of the building, and tennis takes over in the summer months.
The arena is home to the Apple Valley Eagles and the Eastview Lightning boys' and girls' hockey programs. Banners for the Eagles' MSHSL state championships hang inside: the girls won in 1995 and 1998, the boys in 1996. Images of the programs' college and NHL alumni line the lobby.
In 2025 a bill in the Minnesota Legislature sought state bonds for the arena, to pay for upgrades to its administrative offices, public lobby areas, restrooms and locker rooms.
