Cottage Grove's city-run three-sheet arena
Cottage Grove Ice Arena is a three-sheet arena owned and operated by the City of Cottage Grove, counted among the city's public buildings alongside City Hall and its four fire stations. The building holds three sheets of ice and one turf field. The North Rink is the main sheet at 85 by 200 feet, with seating for 850 and a capacity of 1,178. The South Rink is a smaller 65-by-120-foot sheet with seating for 50 and a capacity of 600.
The ice belongs mostly to local hockey. The arena plays host to the Cottage Grove Hockey Association, the East Ridge High School Boys Hockey Club and the Park High School Boys and Girls Hockey Clubs. The city's own Skating School runs Learn to Skate lessons on the same ice, and the rink also opens for public skate sessions, stick and puck and open hockey. Cottage Grove Ice Arena is also listed among the home rinks of the Eskimos hockey program.
