Prior Lake's two-sheet Dakotah! Ice Center

Dakotah! Ice Center is the rink side of Dakotah! Sport and Fitness, the Prior Lake club owned and operated by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. The club opened in 1994 to serve community members, employees and the public, and its ice center now offers open skating, lessons and more on two sheets of ice.

The building is home ice for the Prior Lake High School girls' and boys' hockey teams and the Prior Lake/Savage Youth Hockey Association. Games and events on both sheets can be live-streamed for a fee through a partnership with MNHockey.tv, and the ice is also rented for practices, camps, tournaments and private rentals. The Skate Dakotah! program teaches group classes from beginners all the way to adults, placing each skater in a class after an on-ice assessment.

Open skate aims to be fun, safe and pleasant, so skate aids, sticks and pucks stay off the ice. In July 2026 the club announced a complete remodel of its aquatic center, locker rooms and restrooms.
