Pelham's twin-pad community centre, opened in September 2018 and home of the GOHL's Pelham Panthers.
The Meridian Community Centre held its official grand opening on September 14 and 15, 2018. About 1,000 residents came to a weekend that included a ribbon cutting, a community open house and an NHL Alumni game on the Saturday night. The arena project had been 25 years in the making, and its fundraising campaign passed its goal with the help of a CA$1 million grant from the Meridian Group.
The building has two NHL-size ice surfaces, the Accipiter Arena and the Duliban Insurance Arena, one of them seating 1,000. It is also a designated Seniors Active Living Centre. The Pelham Panthers of the Greater Ontario Hockey League's Eastern conference play their home games here. The club spent decades as the Port Colborne Pirates before relocating to Pelham in 2014, and it took the Panthers name that November.
