Irvine's 280,000-square-foot ice complex, the Anaheim Ducks' practice home and California's largest.
Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena in Irvine is the largest ice facility in California, at 280,000 square feet. The $100 million, LEED Silver-certified building has three NHL-standard rinks and FivePoint Arena, and it came out of a public-private partnership with the City of Irvine at Orange County Great Park, with the Samueli Foundation of Ducks owners Henry and Susan Samueli as its major contributor.
It is the Anaheim Ducks' official practice facility. The Ducks introduced Dallas Eakins as their coach there on June 17, 2019, and the arena hosted the 2019 Anaheim Ducks Rookie FaceOff, a six-team tournament with the Kings, Golden Knights, Coyotes and Sharks.
It also hosted the 2019 Chipotle-USA Hockey Nationals for Tier 1 girls' teams and a Harvard vs. Arizona State men's game, and FivePoint Arena was home to the AHL's San Diego Gulls for the 2020-21 season.
