Stittsville's recreation complex since 2001
CARDELREC Recreation Complex Goulbourn opened in 2001 on Shea Road in Stittsville as the Goulbourn Recreation Complex, built at a cost of CA$9.1 million. On March 5, 2019 it took its current name after Cardel Homes Ottawa agreed to sponsor the complex for 15 years through the City of Ottawa's Community Champions Program.
The building holds two ice surfaces, named for Matt Bradley and Katie Xu, along with a swimming pool, the Erica Wiebe gymnasium and the Ward 6 councillor's office. The Capital Recreation Hockey League, an adult league that rotates its games across six Ottawa-area arenas, counts Goulbourn among its rinks. On the ground floor, two gallery walls programmed by the Ottawa West Arts Association show local painters, photographers and mixed-media artists, with a new exhibition every two months and a People's Choice ballot for visitors.
The complex marked 25 years in November 2025 with a celebration hosted by the ward councillor and the CARDELREC team, and the Goulbourn Recreation Complex name still travels with the building alongside the sponsor's.
