Community-financed arena whose first skate was January 16, 1971; renamed for Johnny Leroux in 2011

Johnny Leroux Stittsville Community Arena held its first skate on the evening of January 16, 1971, after a community effort that raised the money and then raised the building itself. The arena was financed entirely by local residents, with no help from the municipality. It opened as the Stittsville Community Centre, with a skating rink and a community hall under the same roof.
The building took its current name in 2011, when it was renamed for Johnny Leroux, a long-time coach and referee for local hockey and baseball teams who had also groomed the community's ball diamonds. Stittsville Minor Hockey plays its games and practices here; in 2015 the plan was for the local Junior B team to take over the arena canteen for those games and practices. The hall has also housed a table tennis group that, as of 2018, had been meeting twice a week for a decade.
The Ottawa 67's have used the ice too: with help from Stittsville Minor Hockey, the 67's held an open practice here that everyone in Stittsville was invited to come out and watch.
