Kanata's four-rink Senators practice facility, opened in 2004 and main home of the Bell Capital Cup.
Loading public skate, freestyle, and stick & puck times for Bell Sensplex…
The Bell Sensplex opened on December 12, 2004, the first of three Sensplex locations. The Ottawa Senators built it in a public-private partnership with the City of Ottawa at a cost of CA$25.6 million, with the city providing part of the construction funding.
The 180,000-square-foot building has one international-size rink, the Mattamy Homes Arena, and three NHL-size rinks, each seating more than 120, plus the 200-by-100-foot Gifford Carr indoor fieldhouse and the Centre Ice Sports Bar overlooking two of the rinks. It serves close to one million patrons a year, and the city buys 2,400 hours of ice for public use annually.
It is the official practice facility of the Senators and of the NLL's Ottawa Black Bears, was home to the Ottawa Lady Senators and is partial home of the Kanata Kings. Each year between Christmas and New Year's it is the main arena for the Bell Capital Cup, which draws more than 500 Atom and Pee-Wee teams and bills itself as the world's largest hockey tournament.
