Opened August 5, 2014 as a public-private partnership with the City of Ottawa, with four arenas under one roof
Richcraft Sensplex opened on August 5, 2014, the latest of the Sensplex facilities and a public-private partnership with the City of Ottawa. It has been a hub for ice sports and community events in Ottawa's east end since.
The building has four arenas: three new NHL-sized sheets named HEO, Canadian Tire and CIBC, and the refurbished Potvin Arena, each with seating for over 120 spectators. A multi-use meeting space with audio-visual equipment overlooks the HEO arena, and a licensed bar and grill overlooks the Canadian Tire and CIBC sheets.
Hockey Eastern Ontario, the local branch of Hockey Canada, keeps its head offices in the building, and the Titan Performance Centre runs fitness classes and a skating treadmill. The Sensplex says it serves close to one million patrons a year.
