Kanata's former Glen Cairn Arena

Jack Charron Arena, formerly the Glen Cairn Arena, stands on Castlefrank Road at McKitrick Drive in Kanata's Glen Cairn neighbourhood. The building also houses the Kanata Sports Club.

Junior A hockey arrived with the Kanata Valley Lasers, who began play in the Central Junior Hockey League in 1987–88 as an expansion franchise for Kanata, then a separate suburb of Ottawa. The Kanata Sport Club owned the Lasers until 2002, when it sold them to Dynasty Flooring; the new owners renamed the team the Kanata Stallions and moved it from Jack Charron Arena to the Kanata Recreation Centre. The Ottawa Canadians of the CCHL2 have also played out of the arena.

The current junior tenant is the Kanata Kings of the National Capital Junior Hockey League. Their franchise was awarded to Blackburn on March 30, 2017, moved to Carp as the West Carleton Inferno in 2018 and to Almonte in 2021, and on July 25, 2025 the league announced its sale and relocation to Kanata, where the Kings play at Jack Charron Arena.
