Opened in July 2026
Richmond Ice Box opened in July 2026 as the newest ice facility in the Richmond area, a purpose-built single-sheet rink in Midlothian.
The building holds one regulation-size sheet, used for hockey, figure skating and public skating, with four large community locker rooms and spectator areas beside the ice. A 1,200-square-foot pro shop sits inside the building. Hockey here runs through the Richmond Hockey Club, introduced together with the rink itself, while figure skaters move up a level ladder from Pre-Free Skate to Free Skate 6 under the rink's skating director.
As of September 2026 the Ice Box has been open for only a few months. Its programs are pitched at skaters and players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to elite competitors, and the figure-skating side has its own skating director.
