Chesterfield County's Olympic-size sheet, home to the volunteer-run Central Virginia Skating Club
Richmond Ice Zone is one of two ice rinks in the Richmond region, a year-round arena in North Chesterfield with an Olympic-size sheet that hosts lessons and club sports. It operates alongside a partner rink, SkateNation Plus in Henrico County, and together the two buildings are the region's main bases for youth and adult hockey, ice dancing and figure skating.
Figure skating at Ice Zone runs through the Central Virginia Skating Club, a non-profit run by volunteers that makes the rink its home and offers programs for all levels and ages. The club helps staff and run local competitions, test sessions, ice shows and exhibitions. Skaters who want to keep moving up the ranks largely do so through private lessons, and can join the Richmond Figure Skating Club, which puts on competitions for singles, pairs and ice dancers.
As of late 2024, adult hockey at Ice Zone and SkateNation Plus was organised as league play with six divisions under the Hockey Night in Richmond umbrella. In September 2025 the rink hosted a Girls Try Hockey for Free Day together with the Washington Capitals.
