Folsom's circular holiday rink around the railroad turntable

The Historic Folsom Ice Rink is a circular seasonal rink that circles the city's historic railroad turntable in the Historic Folsom Plaza. It has become a holiday tradition for nearly two decades, and runs from November through mid-January each year, with themed events and social skate nights through the season.

In 2022 the Folsom Historic District Association moved a downsized rink to a lower lot after learning that the power supply at the plaza could not run a chiller large enough for the circular rink. For 2023 the rink returned to the plaza with new equipment from the Italian company Realice, a larger chiller, wood railings in place of white PVC pipe and plexiglass, and a new supply of skates included in admission. The president of the rink company Special Ice said few seasonal rinks are as identifiable as the Folsom ring rink.
