Spokane's skater-owned Eagles rinks

Eagles Ice Arena was developed by the Eagles Lodge on a 2.2-acre lot on North Addison Street. Its first rink was built in 1973 and the second in 1981, and its longtime manager ran the arena from 1980.

In 2017 three nonprofit groups that skate there, the Old Timers hockey association, the Lilac City Figure Skating Club and the Spokane Americans Youth Hockey Association, bought the property and business for $2.8 million.

The arena has served as a practice rink for skaters competing at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Spokane, and it has drawn celebrities including Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and Dierks Bentley. It is home to Spokane Youth Hockey, the Old-timers Association and the junior A Spokane Braves.
