Home ice of Skidmore College hockey

Saratoga Springs runs two city rinks side by side on Weibel Avenue. The main arena, the Weibel Avenue Ice Rink, has an Olympic-size playing surface and seating for 1,500; the Vernon Rink, an NHL-size practice sheet, sits in the adjacent building.

The main arena is home ice for Skidmore College men's hockey. Saratoga Youth Hockey, an all-volunteer program that Joe Vernon founded in 1976, holds introductory hockey lessons here. It has taught hockey to girls since its founding, and in 2019 it launched its first tournament-bound girls' team, the Saratoga Blue Knights, the same season it formed an official partnership with the New York Rangers.

The building's newest addition came through Skidmore. On October 5, 2021, the City Council approved a 10-year license giving the college more than 3,000 feet of land next to the Weibel rink for a new locker room, with the license fees going toward rink improvements, including upgraded lobbies at both rinks and a new traffic light at the entrance. The 3,200-square-foot addition, directly behind the home bench, holds a locker room, training room, coaches' office and equipment room for Skidmore's men's team, and was finished before the 2023–24 season.
