A 220 metre figure-eight skate trail under the Gardiner Expressway

The Bentway Skate Trail is a 220 metre figure-eight trail at 250 Fort York Boulevard, running beneath the Gardiner Expressway. In December 2025 the Bentway said it was inviting skaters back for its eighth winter, and said the trail has become a Toronto winter tradition, with people from all corners of the city sharing the same space during the coldest months.

Each season has its own rituals. The 2025 season opened with a skate-and-sip weekend, brought back the Polar Bear Skate on December 28, set free rental Thursdays from January 8, and planned a finale on Family Day Weekend. The Bentway also announced that the figure-eight trail would stay open through Sunday, March 8, calling the skate under the Gardiner one of Toronto's most distinctive winter experiences.

The Bentway's pages still describe the 2025 season, and no 2026/27 opening date has been posted yet.
