The Yorkton Terriers' 2,300-seat home arena inside the Gallagher Centre, Yorkton's sports and convention hub
The Gallagher Centre is the City of Yorkton's sports, recreation, entertainment and convention hub, and its arena, now named the Soak Zone Auto Spa Arena, is the proud home of the Yorkton Terriers of the SJHL. The Terriers joined the league for the 1972–73 season, hosted the national Junior A championship in Yorkton in 1999 and won the 2014 Royal Bank Cup as Junior A champions of Canada. Their arena seats 2,300.
Besides the Terriers, the ice is primarily used by the Yorkton Kinsmen Maulers of the U18 AAA league and for large tournaments and special events, and it is home to Skate Yorkton, the figure skating club. Five dressing rooms serve the rink, and the Yorkton Curling Club's eight-sheet curling rink is in the same building.
The City's 2022 and 2023 capital budgets paid for new ice plant equipment in what was then called the Westland Arena. Crews replaced the compressors, moved the plant-room entrance to meet refrigeration safety codes and added a new emergency relief stack, finishing the major work by July 10, 2023, so ice could be made for the summer skating season.
