A permanent indoor rink at Fairmont Resort, open since November 2022
Blue Mountains Ice Skating Rink opened to the public on 17 November 2022 as a new, permanent facility in Leura, on the same grounds as Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains. The ice measures 25 m by 22 m, just under 600 square metres and about a third of an Olympic-sized rink. It sits halfway between Lithgow and Penrith, 50 minutes from each, and is open daily all year round.
Besides public sessions the rink runs disco nights, stick and puck nights with pucks and goals provided, Learn2Skate classes with Coach Charmain, and a Coffee Club for adults on Friday mornings in term, where Coach Linda teaches new skills. An annual ice show is presented by Sydney Ice Theatre, and planning for this year's end-of-year show is under way.
