Neighbourhood ice beside Thornhill’s aquatic centre.
Murray Copot Arena sits beside Thornhill Aquatic & Recreation Centre in north Calgary. Its single 185-by-85-foot indoor ice surface has spectator seating for 300, with hot and cold vending machines in the building.
The prime ice season runs from October through March. The city’s dated calendar lists both public skating and other ice programs, so check the activity as well as the date. A published public skate on October 4, 2026 runs from 3:30 to 5 p.m.; it is a scheduled drop-in, not an all-day open rink.
Standard public-skate admission is CA$6.30 for adults and free for children five and under, with reduced child, youth and senior rates. A family visit is CA$12.90. Calgary strongly recommends CSA-approved helmets, especially for children and youth.
