Public skating at Lake Ellyn Natural Ice Rink: the next 7 days

Currently out of season The Glen Ellyn Park District's outdoor skating page describes Lake Ellyn as a natural ice rink and says the skating season runs from mid-December through the end of February, weather permitting and when ice conditions are determined to be safe. Lake Ellyn is a 10-acre body of water, and a light on the Boathouse shows green for safe ice and red for unsafe ice. Skating areas are not guaranteed each year, so check the district's hotline before you go. Official schedule update
