Where Gracie Gold trained

Center Ice of DuPage opened in Glen Ellyn in 1989 as a 56,796-square-foot building with one NHL-size rink and one international-size rink, plus party rooms for community functions, group outings and field trips. Black Bear Sports Group acquired it in 2017 and owns it today.

It is home to the DuPage Black Bears, a Tier II youth hockey club that Black Bear Sports Group runs as a model program.

Olympic figure skater Gracie Gold trained here for five years before moving to Los Angeles in 2013 to work with coach Frank Carroll, who had coached Michelle Kwan and Evan Lysacek. Olympic speedskater Ethan Cepuran also started out at the rink as a toddler, first parked on a hockey bench while the rest of his family skated.
