Rolling Meadows Park District rink where 2022 World Junior pair Martins and Bedard skated as toddlers
Loading public skate, freestyle, and stick & puck times for Nelson Sports Complex (Rolling Meadows)…
Nelson Sports Complex is the Rolling Meadows Park District's ice rink, used for skating lessons, freestyle ice sessions, hockey practices and public skate. The rink shares the complex with an Olympic-sized outdoor pool, a fitness center and a gymnastics center. It is one of two ice rinks in Rolling Meadows, alongside West Meadows Ice Arena.
Isabelle Martins and Ryan Bedard skated as toddlers at Nelson Sports Complex before becoming a pairs team. In March 2022 the pair were selected to compete at the International Skating Union World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, held April 13 to 17 that year. Martins has called Nelson a great rink to start in, and said that growing up she always felt welcome and excited to skate there.
The Park District has been working through a construction program at Nelson, and a few remaining projects are still to be completed.
