An NHL rink and an Olympic rink in Woodridge since 1994
Seven Bridges Ice Arena opened in Woodridge in 1994, a 114,355-square-foot building with one NHL-size rink and one Olympic-size rink. Black Bear Sports Group bought the arena's debt in 2015 and completed a foreclosure on the property in 2016.
Team Illinois signed a long-term deal in November 2016 and moved in for the 2017 hockey season; the arena at that point held an off-ice workout area and locker rooms dedicated to its Tier 1 and high school teams. In April 2024 Black Bear launched the Chicago Phantoms AAA, a Tier 1 youth club headquartered at Seven Bridges as its permanent home. The building includes a private locker room complex of 14 locker rooms and a private gym.
The arena has hosted more than hockey. The Kane County Dawgs, an indoor football team, played their 2013 home games here, and forfeited their opener when the turf they had bought did not fit the arena. The American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association holds its annual week-long Stan Mikita Hockey Camp at Seven Bridges.
