Three NHL sheets under a 143,000-square-foot roof, built jointly by Hyland Hills and the City of Westminster
The Ice Centre at the Promenade is a joint project of the Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District and the City of Westminster, Colorado. It is one of only a few triple ice sheet facilities in North America: three NHL regulation-size sheets inside a 143,000-square-foot building, with seating for 1,600 spectators. The operator bills it as one of the largest public ice skating facilities in America, and it is set up as an NHL-quality visiting-team and high-altitude training facility.
Youth hockey here means the Hyland Hills Jaguars, a complete program for players from age 4 through 17. The Rocky Mountain Figure Skating Club, a volunteer-run club established in 1978 as a member of the United States Figure Skating Association, is the home club at the Ice Centre. Adults have one of the largest adult hockey leagues in the country.
