An ice rink where the lido becomes a winter park on Lake Achensee
The ice rink at the Atoll Achensee in Maurach is set up in winter in the leisure centre's open-air SEE-Bad, which the centre says turns into a winter paradise. The setting is the snow-covered panorama above Lake Achensee, and children can run through the snow in the neighbouring play area.
On selected dates the rink offers extended hours up to 20:00 on its long skating evenings, which the centre describes as a night-time ice banquet under the stars. Ice stock sport is the rink's other attraction for families and larger groups.
The rink belongs to a leisure centre with an indoor pool, sauna, gym, climbing hall, open-air pool and playground. The centre recommends wearing a helmet on the ice at all times and asks skaters to wear warm clothes.
