Covered outdoor rink with 1,000 m² of ice
La Clusaz's municipal rink is a covered outdoor rink in the middle of the village, with 1,000 square metres of ice, open from the autumn school holidays until the end of April. Since 2024 it has also had a summer role: the town turns it into La Grange des Minis, a play space for the youngest children.
Last winter the town filled the week with different sessions. Mornings were for families and the youngest skaters, with teaching equipment on loan. Thursdays were DJ nights, with the rink turned into a dance floor on ice, and the town added Eisstock tournaments, a game halfway between curling and pétanque. Evening hockey sessions for all levels supplied the sticks and pucks, and a hockey tournament closed the rink to the public on two Sundays last autumn.
The rink's own team runs it with activities for all ages, and children under 8 who are learning can use chairs the rink lends them.
