The lido on the Müggelsee that turns into a rink

From November to February the Seebad Friedrichshagen turns into the Eisstrand, with a 600 square metre rink. The ice is built on solid ground, and the rink says it suits beginners and experienced amateur skaters alike, with an incomparable view across the Müggelsee.

The lido is run by AKLW GmbH, which took it over after the Berlin Bäderbetriebe went looking for a tenant in 2008 for what was then an ageing Seebad. Its winter programme around the ice includes a carol-singing evening shortly before Christmas, in a family atmosphere, and the ice-bathing event on the third Sunday of the year.

Eisstockschießen for teams and groups is offered next to open skating, and the Eisstrand's season-closing event invites visitors to bring their stripped Christmas trees to a big fire.
