Public skating at Kunsteisbahn Weyermannshaus: the next 7 days
Currently out of season The city's page gives the 2026/27 season (3 October 2026 to 7 March 2027), says the hockey field and the public field are open from 3 October, lists daily opening hours (from 09:00 until between 19:00 and 22:00) and asks visitors to check the occupancy plan before every visit; the plan marks each slot as free, training, individual booking or ice cleaning. No public-skating timetable is printed, so none is listed here. Checked on 4 October 2026. Official schedule update

Bern's Weyerli rink, built with the indoor pool in 1970 and home of Rot-Blau
The Kunsteisbahn Weyermannshaus was built together with the indoor pool, which opened in 1970 with a teaching pool and a five-lane 25-metre pool. The ice field measures 60 by 75 metres and can be divided with boards, usually into two skating fields and one hockey field. EHC Rot-Blau Bern-Bümpliz has called it home since the 1971/72 season, and SC Bern uses it for youth training.
In 2014 it was the first rink to offer the "Eisgleiter", a steel plate on runners invented by former German luger Hans Rinn that lets people who cannot walk well move on the ice. Above the swimming pool the ice shavings are piled up in winter, December to February, to make what Bern calls its smallest ski area, served by a magic carpet.
In 2013 the city council said the concrete slab was in such bad condition that summer use could no longer continue, and that the cooling pipes were old and brittle. A complete new building named Central Park is planned for pool and rink, with the ice hall on the lower floor and the pool above it in timber. At the start of the 2026 season the hockey field opened first and the public field had to wait because of a leak in the cooling system.
