Public skating runs on the roofed outdoor ice field of the city-owned Tissot Arena.
The Tissot Arena is Biel/Bienne's sports and events complex, run by CTS Congrès, Tourisme et Sport SA, a wholly owned subsidiary of the city. The operator counts it among the most modern multi-purpose stadiums in Switzerland.
Public skating takes place on the Ausseneisfeld, a roofed outdoor ice field at the eastern end of the building, two floors above the embankment level. A side terrace looks out over the field towards the first Jura ridge in the direction of Solothurn, and in summer the same field is used for events such as trade fairs and open-air cinema.
Next to it the ice stadium holds 7,000 spectators, 4,500 of them seated. The arena also contains a curling hall equipped for international competitions with six rinks and a football stadium with 5,200 covered places, and a roofed square of 3,200 square metres lies between the two stadiums.
