Ledena dvorana Bled stands in the centre of Bled, near the hotels. The local Tourist Society kept a natural rink on the site for several winters, and about 30 companies paid for an artificial rink with compressors, built in 1974; the hall got its roof in 1979.
The biggest upgrade came in 2002, for the Chess Olympiad. The ice surface measures 30 by 60 metres, with 1,200 seats in the stands and 1,600 more on the floor depending on the layout, and ice is kept from July to April.
Bled has hosted the ice hockey World Championship Group B in 1991 and Group C in 1993 and 1996, the final of the junior world figure skating championship in 2002 and the women's Division II Group A world championship in 2016. The Rudi Hiti summer hockey league was played here from 1993 to 2014.
